The GSA Cuba Team moved
this morning of November 2nd to the Cuban Day Care-Center called “The blue
carriage man” ( El
Cochero azul) in Pinar del Rio This name is taken after a story
by a famous Cuban writer, Dora Alonso. This center is aimed at
educating children from the early years.
An environmental dimension is included in this facility’s program.
This time the GSA Cuba Team visited this center to share knowledge
and experiences and the Ecoflag ,as an international symbol of environment
education, was very vivid and accepted by teachers and children The
names of the teachers are: Maribel Morejon Hernandez, Danay Echevarria,
Vivian Leon Campos and Yakelin Bouzon Pujol. The subject they are
receiving in the program is named “Development of Natural Areas”.
In this course, children are aimed at organizing their toys, picking
up sheets of papers in the hall, watering the plants, cleaning the
furrows from grass and other environmental activities reinforced
with the Ecoflag. |

Volunteer Clean Up |
|
|
|
|
Clean up activities are part of the
curriculum at this nursery school, and
about 30 children and staff took part in the activity that hopes
to raise
the children to care about the environment from a young age. It was
a hot
and humid day and the children did their best filling prepared recycle
bags.
The kids got a good look at the bad habits of adults, and they
made comments
such as, “Seeing all this garbage that’s dropped,
I feel sorry for the
planet”, and, “Why are there so many cigarette butts?”
When these children become adults, it is hoped that from these
experiences
it will be easy to understand why we need to protect the environment.
At GSA Wakayama Hashimoto we plan to continue these activities
and fly the
Ecoflag at the Nursery.

and
guardians joined 32 children aged 3-5 years old, in the class taught
by WSA
staff.
The purpose of the event was 'to teach children from a young
age to
appreciate the natural environment, to follow the rules and manners
of the
sport and most importantly to understand that without a healthy environment,
we can’t enjoy sport.'
The event was featured on TBS News. |
