The Ecoflag was flying at the Obukuro
Higashi Primary school sports day in
Koshigaya city, and the School Principal promised not only to continue
flying the flag at future sports days, but to get involved in GSA's
tennis
ball recycling initiative in line with the school's tradition of
being 'kind
to people, things and the environment'. The school has also set
up recycle
boxes so the students can do something for the environment, everyday.
All
Primary schools in Koshigaya have become involved in the 'Kids
Eco-Club' as
part of a scheme started by the Ministry for the Environment
in 1995 that
gets all age groups involved in a variety of projects.
At the sports day, third graders looked at what they could do
for the
environment and got involved in different activities including
increasing
awareness.
