*Japan Beach Soccer Championship (26-27 October)


*Soaking up the last rays of summer sun the Japan Beach Soccer Championship took place in Okinawa. Esperanza, Kyushu’s strongest team and champions of the Ecoflag put up a good fight but couldn’t overcome the strength of the Okinawan teams to reach the final. Good news for the Ecoflag however, as the Ecoflag drew more and more interest from players and fans, the Okinawan organization committee agreed to fly the Ecoflag from next year.

*Nagasaki Beach Soccer Festival 2002 (26-27 October)

This year’s event was run under the theme of ‘World Environmental Sports’ and players and fans alike took part in beach clean ups, garbage separation and ‘take your garbage home’ programs.


*Kagoshima Beach Soccer Festival 2002 (13-14 October)


*The Ecoflag was flying at the Kagoshima Beach Soccer Festival 2002. 349 players took part in event with 36 teams in the general grouping and 4 in the women’s division.
