The Ecoflag was flying in the at Roddick Lavalle Tennis Academy in Texas during our summer camp held from June to August 2010.
Participants from USA, Mexico, Dominican Republic, Spain, and Zimbabwe took part.

GSA partner, the Hyogo Tennis Association flew the Ecoflag at a Pink Ribbon tournament being held at Ashiya Seaside in Hyogo on 21-24 June.
The Japan Ladies Tennis Associationfs Pink Ribbon Ladies Tennis Tournament holds knock out rounds around the country from April each year. The event is organized to raise awareness and promote the early detection of breast cancer. The finals take place in October during National Breast Cancer Month.

The first JTBA Tour 2009 Beach Tennis Tournament came to a successful season end after 7 tournaments. In addition to the tournament there were demonstration events and collaboration events with other beach sports, such as beach soccer.
The beach is open to all and a part of the natural environment. In order to protect this natural environment and playing surface we teamed up with GSA to increase awareness. At all the JTBA TOUR 2009 events we held beach clean ups and promoted Ecoplay among the players. We'll keep up our efforts in the 2010 Tour.

The Rakuten Japan Open Tennis Championship 2009 took place on 5-11 October at the Tokyo Ariake no Mori Park, with huge crowds of Japanese fans turning out to see Japan's top players and international stars.
The Ecoflag was flying at the event alongside Japan Tennis Association (JTA) environmental banners. JTA posters with GSA Director, Shuzo Matsuoka's environmental messages were also displayed and visitors were ask to properly separate garbage at the event.

Shigeyuki Nishio is a pro tennis player and GSA Navigator, who holds regular events aimed at promoting health, spirit and friendship through tennis. His most recent event was held with another pro, Kyoko Nagatsuka, at the Takanawa Tennis Center at the Shinagawa Prince Hotel.
24 people took part in the event that included a tennis clinic and exhibition match.

The 33rd All Japan Inner City Tennis Tournament took place at Kashiwanoha Tennis facilities between 16-19 July. The event acted as a rehearsal for Japan's biggest sports festival, which will take place next year.
The event acted as the final for regional qualifiers include singles and doubles events for men and women, in general and veteran classes.
The Ecoflag and Japan Tennis Association (JTA) environmental banner were flying. The JTA is a GSA partner and flies the Ecoflag at tournaments while promoting the Ecoplay concept.

18-19 April: 1st round competition: Kamakura Yuigahama Beach
2-3 May: 2ns round competition: Atami Sun Beach
The events brought amateurs and pros together and in the women's division it was veteran amateur that pushed past the pros for a double victory in both competition. Morevoer, the highest ages of the competing players were 72 and 68 respectively in the 2 competitions. Literally, anyone has a chance of taking part and winning and a court was also set up for people to have a try at the sport, if they wished.
Staff and volunteers held a beach clean prior to the event, as well as on event day, with players taking part.

GSA Partner, the Japan Tennis Association (JTA), is flying the Ecoflag and promoting the Ecoplay concept at JTA sponsored events from this year.
DUNLOP Japan Open Junior Tennis Tournament 2009
The DUNLOP Japan Open Junior Tennis Tournament 2009 took place from 31 March to 5 April at the Nagoya Higashiyama Tennis Center. The event is an ITF approved Grade A event that features many future stars and this year's event didn't disappoint in showcasing fierce competition among top Junior players.

Toyota Junior Tennis Tournament 2009
The Toyota Junior Tennis Tournament 2009 took place from 8-11 April at the Nagoya Higashiyama Park Tennis Center and Mizuho Park Tennis Court. The tournament decides Japan's best under 16 player and selects 4 players to compete in tournaments abroad.

The Japan Tennis Association's (JTA) All Japan Tennis Tournament took place at the Ariake Colloseum and Ariake Tennis no Mori Koen tennis courts. Following on from the AIG Open, the JTA flew the Ecoflag at this national tournament.
The JTA Environmental Committee were behind the production of a special ribbon magnet that aims to promote environmental awareness and a portion of the profits will go to supporting the Ecoflag Movement.
The JTA's environmental activities include:
- Environmental actions, such as garbage separation, and banners to raise awareness
- Participation in the Team Minus 6% program
- Consultation with the Japan Olympic Committee's Sport and Environment Commission
- Cooperation with NPO Global Sports Alliance (GSA)
- Cooperation with tennis ball reuse programs
- Flying the Ecoflag

GSA Navigator and tennis pro Shinichi Sakamoto coached at the "NIKE-QUEST Tennis Clinic" at the Nagoya Green Tennis Club on 26 October 2008.
The Nagoya Green Tennis Club is the center of activity for local GSA Team, GSA Toyota, and with neighboring teams, GSA Chubu and GSA Nagoya lending support, there were plenty of Ecoflags flying courtside.
30 participants in three levels took part in the 3 hour 'fair play and Ecoplay tennis clinic'.

The Ecoflag was flying in Karuizawa on 20-21 September at a members retreat held at the EST Tennis Club. Luckily the typhoon missed us and we enjoyed great weather for the event. At the commemorative photo we promised to become Ecoplayers.

I was in Spain this month for 20 days, taking my tennis player for a tennis camp in Spain, where David Ferrer (ranked no. 5 in world), Dinara Safina and so many other tennis professionals go to train .On the last day of our visit, I took a group photo with other junior up and coming players from different countries who were at the camp.
1. The group photo consists of junior player from India, Russia, Argentina, Great Britain, Kenya.These players experience a clean new tennis environment with GSA's Ecoflag.
2. Gibra'el Teja in action. He is a 13 year old Kenyan player I have been coaching for 3 years.
3. Myself, standing next to the name of one of the best tennis academies, Centro de Tenis Altur-Alvarino, situated in Silla.

The Ecoflag was flying at the 6th Sports Quest-Mix Doubles Tennis Tournament on 17 May 2008, sponsored by Marutan.
28 pairs took part in the event that takes place in Nagoya City. The Ecoflag was flying center court and all the participants received Ecoflag cards as they learned about GSAfs efair play and Ecoplayf message.
