Man and nature once
lived in harmony. At that time man desired only what he needed and
he found it in abundance in nature. Then, as civilization developed,
man placed his faith in civilization and turned to economic development
in the pursuit of wealth. As a result we have made incredible progress
and achieve material wealth and convenience. However, we have also
lost something as a result - the beautiful environment from which
we came. As a result of exploiting and separating ourselves from
the environment, the environment has begun to react. Problems such
as global warming, acid rain, desertification and ocean pollution
are warning signs that, if ignored, will make this planet uninhabitable
to man and lead to the end of civilization. In September 1999, ing
CORPORATION and ing GROUP achieved the International Organization
for Standardization's ISO14001 certification
Through our actions we hope to develop closer ties with our customers
and all that share this planet. The beauty of the natural earth
is a gift and we hope that everyone will come to understand and
support our activities.

ISO 14001 Certification Guide Published

We have published an ISO 14001 Environmental Management Guide for small and medium size businesses. It shows the processes involved in achieving certification and should serve as a handy reference.
The book is detailed and clearly shows the fundamental focal points in attaining certification. The B5 size book runs for 360 pages and is now in its third edition.

the Pacific Economic Cooperation Council On the theme of 'how our
company changed after ISO 14001 Certification', ing CORPORATION
made an appearance at the Pacific Economic Cooperation Council,
made up of 22 countries of the Pacific Rim, including Japan, the
United States of America, Canada and various South East Asian countries.
At the PECC 2000 science and technology workshop held from 12th
-14th July 2000 in Taiwan, Toshikazu Hasumi, ing CORPORATION's Environmental
Administration and Development Chief, talked about reaching ISO
certification and its effects at the 'Environmental Management and
ISO14000' session.
Through incorporating the process and implementation of the ISO14001
Certification into the basic philosophy of our organization, employee
awareness and action, as well as the company's business systems,
have greatly improved. Our goal is to be known as a company of excellence
amongst local consumers, as well as other businesses.
